Overview
Gemini Notebook is Google’s standalone research and note-taking product, renamed from NotebookLM in July 2026. It works with selected sources to support summaries and answers with citations, and turns research into Audio Overviews and study materials. Standard provides free access with limits; eligible Google AI, Workspace and Cloud plans can raise them. Chat also has experimental tools for web research, code and downloadable files, so the product should not be described as always using only uploaded material. Check important answers against their sources.
