The Global AI Product Index is an independent, open database of AI products. It maintains structured, citable profiles of AI companies and products — category, business model, availability, launch date, and cited sources — and publishes aggregate market statistics.
How many AI products does the index track?
As of 2026-08-04, the index tracks 215 AI products from 185 organizations across 15 categories. The dataset is a seed set and is continuously expanded.
Can I reuse this data?
Yes. The dataset is licensed CC BY 4.0: you may share and adapt it for any purpose with attribution to "Global AI Product Index". It is available as JSON and CSV downloads, and every product has its own JSON endpoint.
How is the data verified?
Every record cites at least one source, preferring official product pages and official announcements. Corrections are reviewed through the public source repository on GitHub, and each record carries its own last-updated date.
How do I cite a product record?
Use the product's canonical URL (for example https://globalaiproductindex.com/products/chatgpt/) together with its "record updated" date. Records are stable, versioned, and designed for citation by researchers and AI answer engines.
