Overview
KNIME (short for "Konstanz Information Miner") is a data analytics, reporting, and integration platform built around visual workflows. Users assemble nodes for data preparation, modeling, analysis, and visualization with little or no coding, and database access uses JDBC. The desktop Analytics Platform is free and open source under GPLv3, while KNIME Hub plans for teams and a Business Hub for governed production use are commercial. Development began in January 2004 at the University of Konstanz and the first version was released in 2006; the company is headquartered in Zurich with offices in Konstanz, Berlin, and Austin.
